HYPNOSIS and HYPNOTHERAPY
Have you ever driven your car along a familiar route, perhaps on a journey that you make every day and then realised as you arrive at your destination that you’ve been so lost in your thoughts that you’re not quite sure how you got there? … or maybe sat staring into space carried away in a daydream and not heard someone talking to you?
Well these everyday occurrences are examples of a naturally occurring trance like state and with hypnosis I can induce a similar state through simple guided relaxation techniques. Contrary to popular belief you will not be put to sleep and you will not say or do anything you do not want to. In fact you will be aware and in control at all times. It’s a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Hypnotherapy, sometimes called suggestion therapy, is therapy whilst under hypnosis. As a qualified Hypnotherapist I will guide you to the very relaxed state of hypnosis when the thinking part of your mind, your conscious mind, will be bypassed and I will communicate directly with your subconscious, the part of your mind where all your feelings, memories and experiences are stored. In hypnosis your subconscious is very receptive to suggestions for positive change … change to maybe help you reach your true potential or to change a negative pattern of behaviour. Think of your subconscious as a computer with all your life’s experiences stored in the database. With hypnosis I can access your database and effectively reprogramme it … changing a negative thought to a positive, or maybe eliminating a negative habit, or even improving motivation or self confidence.
Hypnotherapy is not magic nor a quick fix. You will have to take responsibility to make the positive change you desire in your life. Change is never easy but the rewards are well worth the effort.
